35th Reunion 2007
Hello Class of 1972... I hope you got your postcards and will use this new blog that Bill put together for us. 2007 will be our 35th reunion. Any ideas on what you would like to do? Golf? Take a cruise? Meet somewhere besides Coronado? Would love for you to share your input. Take Care... Quita

Thank you Mr Billy Burns and Chiquita Banana! I apolagize Quita but that's the way I remember you. Mr. Burns I must have sat behind you all through grade school. A cruise is the way to go even if no one shows up you will have a great time! Scott

Thanks to everyone for your thoughtful comments and notes following the recent death of my father. We had a wonderful memorial service on the USS Reagan in Coronado and the funeral and burial at the Naval Academy was extremely well done; the Navy did an exceptional job of recognizing his life. Those interested can visit admiralstockdale.com which I helped put together with one of my brothers.
Quita and Bill, thanks for your efforts in helping to keep this motley crew together. Looking forward to Reunion, 2007.

I think it would be great to have a very simple beach party. Volleyball, beer, bbq chicken, fish, boogie boarding etc.
These days, where you have precious little time to spend with others, because of taking care of your ailing parents and holding down a job, simple is best and the most enjoyable. Plus I like inexpensive activities. You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good time.

Sid,
Sorry to hear about your dad, I lost my dad in 1986.
I remember having you to a birthday party during elementary school once, and then I didn't see you until I was a busboy at the officer's mess one summer at North Island.

I like the idea of a beach party with volleyball, pot luck, bonfire, music, keg ..... Just like old times. And if people want to go some where else to party, you are all welcome at my place up here in beautiful Oregon. We could do everything I mentioned here!! Maybe not the beach part but I do have a covered sand arena where we can put up volleyball nets and we can even play dodge ball and horseshoes. Unlimited camping space. All kinds of fun. Synda Spath

Hello from the other end of the state, Pepperwood CA. Don't know if I can make it down in '07. Our son is graguating from UCSD this June so we'll be going down for that.
Anyone is welcome to stop by here- half way between Eureka and Garberville on the Avenue of the Giants.
Good Wishes to you all

Every time I get down to Coronado, I'm surprised - and sometimes upset - by the way it's changing. Old homes gone, businesses gone, garish new McMansion construction in the neighborhoods... I always wonder if it's just me getting old and uptight or if the lovely, gracious Coronado is really disappearing into bland mediocrity.
It must be the late hour and yet another rainy Seattle evening that's making me sentimental. Or peri-menopause! In any case, I like a sense of tradition in the reunions - Quita's incredible parties have been great. And I kind of like the idea of us 20 years from now still getting together with a keg and some Mexican food...with our nurses, of course.
I vote for some classic old casual Coronado kind of place where we can gather, drink, talk, maybe listen to some music; maybe be outside... but I don't know about the beach -- there are so many rules about what you can and can't do there, how late you can stay, I don't know if it's even fun anymore. The last time I went swimming there, I got some weird virus. Nice. So, who's got the house? Or the restaurant we can take over for an evening?

Quita, and bill you rock!!!!
I vote for a beach party, I can bring the wood, I have friends in construction. I recently had lunch with Holly Meyers, She is as beautiful as she can be and married to a Brigadeer General, with four gorgeous children. I was only here thru freshman year, but my brother has lived here along. I moved back here with my husband Jim Cauthorn about l7 years ago.
My brother just caught a seventeen ....yes thats (17) pound.... Halibut off of the Silver Strand yesterday. I wanted to take a picture of it and put it in the local paper, but I dont think he wants anyone else to know about his favorite fishing spots... Tina Christiansen
